The Library will close at 2 p.m. to prepare for the City's Holly Jolly Celebration and Annual Tree Lighting. We will reopen Sunday, December 3 at 1 p.m.

For grades 4-6. Learn about the ancient art form of block printing and create your own print using foam! Limited to 30. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

For ages 18+. Celebrate your love of reading and recycling by creating a winter themed wreath using recycled book pages.

For ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Let’s sing, dance, and make a wintery ribbon ring! Limited to 50. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

Recommended for children in grades K-5. Come listen to Oona in the Arctic and then do a cool STEM project using sandwich bags, ice, and Crisco to learn how blubber protects whales from the cold. Limited to 35. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

For ages 5+. Paint a fun snowman ornament as a family, then enjoy some snowman stories while the ornaments dry. Limited to 20 participants. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

For ages 18+. Cookie lovers - join us for our annual cookie exchange presented with Food for Thought Market and Café. Bring 3 dozen of your favorite cookies to share and enjoy holiday camaraderie, warm drinks, and of course - cookies!

The 2023 Winter Reading Challenge Begins.

For ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Join us for a variety of fun, stimulating sensory play stations. Limited to 40. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

Recommended for ages 5+. Celebrate the start of Winter Reading Challenge by coloring your own Snowman Mini Bag. Take home some winter goodies and a reading log when you're done. Come and go while supplies last.

For grades 7-12. Craft a fun and glowy disco ball with plastic cups, zip ties, and Christmas lights! Limited to 20 participants. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

For ages 18+. Nonfiction readers - join us for our choose-your-own book club! We pick the topic, you pick the book. For December, it's your choice! Read any nonfiction book you like. You're welcome to join the discussion even if you didn't get a chance to read a book for this month.

For grades K-3. Learn how to draw a snowman! Limited to 25. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.

Ages 18+. Join the Friends of the Allen Public Library as we experience a variety of crafts to help you get ready for the holidays. We will make ornaments, gift tags, and more!

For ages 14+. Join us as we meet every other month to discuss great classic literature and enjoy a cup of coffee together! This month's selection is "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë.

Recommended for ages 5+. The North Texas T-TRAK Model Railroad Club is setting up model trains in the 1st floor Meeting Room! Enjoy talking with local model train enthusiasts and watching the N Scale size (1:160) model trains ride around the tracks. No registration required, come and go.

Launch your winter break with NASA Solar System Ambassador Michelle Wilde and learn fun facts about Mars, why are we exploring Mars, when humans will travel to Mars and the amazing scientific experiments being conducted on Mars right now. Prizes and handouts provided to attendees. Limited to 60. Tickets will be available at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the program starts.
